About Me
Hi! There’s not a lot of traffic on this page, so I hereby dub thee “Most excellent and patient web surfer”. May thy patience be rewarded with quick page loads and informative, banner-free content this day, and always.
I graduated from the University of Calgary in mechanical engineering with a music minor. When I'm not making music in one way or another, I might be at work, playing with Kim and baby Brianne, preparing an Aaronic Priesthood lesson for Sunday, or making enchiladas verdes de aguascalientes. The list could go on, but those are some good ones. Hmm ... now I'm hungry.
The sheet music on this site was prepared using either Finale or LilyPond notation software. Since Finale can't produce PDFs without help, I recommend using PDFcreator if you need to make PDFs on Windows. Fortunately, I have switched almost entirely to Ubuntu Studio and LilyPond at home and usually only run Windows if I have a good reason—like being at work. I use a bit of Python and LaTeX to simplify updating this website, so the updates would be even fewer and poorer if I was still writing everything by hand.
In case you were wondering, our family uses a simplified, anglicized pronunciation of Hawryluk (Ukr. Гаврилюк). We rhyme it with garlic. Now I think I'll go to the kitchen for a snack.
